Manchester United yet again have stretched their lead at the top of the table with their 2-1 win over Blackburn, Liverpool only managing a draw with away day losing specialists Man City again showed an inability to live with the pressure of just clinging on to United, never mind catching them. Surely their only remote chance now is winning at Old Trafford in March, and i wouldn't be putting much money on that. The scandalous way in which Rafa Benitez treated Robbie Keane may now be coming back to haunt him as Liverpool again struggled to find the back of the net.
Elsewhere Chelsea restarted their stuttering campaign again with an away victory over Villa and Arsenal again couldn't take advantage of the Villa Park fixture by only managing a home draw with Sunderland.
At the bottom things seem to be getting bleaker for Middlesbrough as they again couldn't manage a win - or even a goal - at home, Hull's disasterous run continued with another defeat, this time though it was a costly one as fellow strugglers Tottenham picked up a well needed three points off them. The only other winners at the bottom were Bolton who stopped the rot with a 2-1 win over West Ham, the rest of the relegation possibles could only lose or draw.
