Plenty at stake at both the top and bottom ends of the table in this afternoon’s Premier League fixtures. Steve Bruce it would appear is focusing his attention on the upcoming so called winnable fixtures against West Ham and Sunderland over the next week opening the door for Chelsea to close the gap on the top two.
At the Riverside Middlesbrough will be looking to bring their FA Cup form into the league – where they haven’t won for 14 matches now – when they take on Liverpool toady, boro have had two good results against West Ham in the Cup lately but like their opponents today seem to struggle to transform Cup form into League form. The Reds are coming off the back of a mad week of rumours and resignations or sackings alongside a magnificent 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League and will be hoping to repeat that win and start picking up League points in an attempt to close the gap on Man Utd who haven’t got a league game this weekend.
