The 2009 Premier League darts season gets under way at the Echo Arena in Liverpool this Thursday and Phil-the power-Taylor is again the man to beat. Fresh from his Players Championship victory last sunday the bookies have - not surprisingly - made Taylor the odds on favourite. Taylor has won all previous four Premier Leagues and in current form it would be hard to say he won't make it five.
Taylor is joined in this years tournament by the remainder of the top six players from the PDC Order of Merit - James Wade, Raymond van Barneveld, John Part, Terry Jenkins and Mervyn King - with wild cards Jelle Klaasen and Wayne Mardle making up the eight for this years event.
