Premier League Darts Preview Week 1

It's here at last, the first of 14 weeks of Premier League Darts starts at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Thursday night and what more could be wished for than an opening night clash between Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld. Taylor who has been in scintillating form over the past few months has never lost to Barney in the Premier League and is's hard to see that changing this week.



The nights other fixtures see James Wade V John Part, it will be interesting to see how Part treats this years tournament as last year he chose to commute to and from Canada most weeks and it seemed to affect his form. Wild card Jelle Klaasen takes on Terry Jenkins, Jenkins form has been a bit in-different lately and he fell during the early stages off the World Championship again so debutant Klaasen might see this as a good chance to get his campaign off to a winning start, newcomer Mervyn King faces Wayne Mardle, Mardle only missed out on the semi-finals last year by leg difference after a disasterous start and will be hoping to get off to a better start this season.
