Premier League Darts Betting Preview Week 2

This weeks Premier League darts comes from Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh and the main draw is the clash between James Wade and Mervyn King.

After last weeks defeat to Taylor, Barney is looking to open his account against air miles Part. At one stage last week Barney looked to have just given up when Taylor was in site of the finishing line, if he where to go behind early in this one it will be interesting to see how he responds - this could also give an indication to how seriously he is taking the competition in general as he dosen't appear to be to comfortable with this format. Only last year it was rumoured that Barry Hearn had to twist his arm to get him to take his place on the 14 week tour.

Verdict - Barney seems no value at 4/9 for me.

The second match sees 'The Bull' Terry Jenkins take on the hot and cold Wayne Mardle, Jenkins opened up with a shaky performance - drawing with Klaasen - last week and on current form is a bit unpredictable. Unpredictable surely should be Mardle's middle name, on form he'll beat anyone but you just don't know what to expect. Wayne started last years tournament with a string of defeats and will be looking to avoid repeating that sequence - and last weeks thrashing by King - with a victory over Jenkins.

Verdict Looks to tight to call this one, a draw might be value as both players seem quite good at chucking away winning positions.

Jelle Klaasen got his Premier League career off to a respectable start last week with a well earned draw with Terry Jenkins. This week sees him up against the seemingly always in-form Phil Taylor, its hard to see Klaasen getting anything out of this one the way Taylors performing lately and it could be a blink and you'll miss it game.

Verdict Over the shorter format of the game Taylor at 1/6 could be too short, hard not to see anything other than a Taylor win though so could be worth sticking in an accumulator.

Mervyn King will be looking to continue his impressive transformation to the PDC when he faces up to James Wade in the match of the night. King's game has improved no end since his switch from the BDO and he is now a major player and has to be taken seriously, it will be interesting to see how his game matches up to Wade's. Wade got his campaign off to an unconvincing start last week only managing a draw with John Part and looking a bit out sorts only playing in patches.

Verdict Expect Wade to show King that he still has some catching up to do, at 11/10 Wade looks decent value.
