The draw is now heavily odds on favourite after a backs-to-the-wall reguard action by India yesterday. Starting the day on 47/1 the Indian batsmen grinded their way through an attritional day to reach 252/2 at the close with Gautam Gambhir unbeaten on 102. Gambhir's century wasn't without chances, during the first session he was itching to come down the wicket to the Kiwi spinners and at time drove upwardly keeping the fielders on their toes.
It remains to be seen whether New Zealand can get the 8 wickets needed to level the series, they will be hoping the pitch has deteriorated enough for for the spinners to get some assistance from it. India know that if they can hold their nerve today that they can't lose the series. A tight tense day promises to be in store and for the sake of the series a New Zealand victory wouldn't go amiss.
