West Indies V England T20 15/03/09

West Indies are 5/4 with Blue Square
England are 8/11 with Paddy Power

The official head to heads (not including Stanford series) between these two sides is won one each, the bookies rather surprisingly have England as favourites at a best priced 8/11 with Paddy Power. This may be due to the fact that the English will be desperate for some form of revenge after losing the Test series, it surely isn't based on current form!

There is further uncertainty with England over the make up of the side, skipper Andrew Strauss hasn't played any one day international cricket since 2007 and it remains to be seen where he will be fitted into the batting line up. England haven't had a settled opening partnership in ODI's for some time now and it is not certain that reinstating Strauss at the top of the order is the answer. On other team news Andrew Flintoff is rested, while Ravi Bopara and Dimitri Mascarenhas return to the side and a debut is handed to wicketkeeper Steven Davies.

West Indies don't have Chris Gayle available after he tore his hamstring bringing up his century in the last test, wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin will take over the captaincy in his absence. Allrounder Dwayne Bravo returns after a 6 month lay off.

Teams

West Indies - Fletcher, Simmons, Sarwan, Chanderpaul ,Bravo, Pollard, Ramdin (capt/wk), Sammy, Benn, Edwards, Baker.

England - Davies (wk),Bopara, Pietersen, Shah, Collingwood, Strauss (capt), Mascarenhas, Batty, Broad, Khan, Anderson.
