After a little bit of on stage aggro last week between Phil Taylor and Mervyn King we will be hoping for more fireworks this week when the Whyte and Mackay Premier League Darts comes to you from Manchester's M.E.N Arena.
This weeks fixtures sees Raymond van Barneveld taking on last weeks antagonist Mervyn King, King failed to put Taylor away when he had his chance so will be looking to get back to winning ways this week against Barney who has been a bit up and down so far in this tournament - expect another close match here.
Jelle Klaasen is still looking for his first win and comes up against the experienced John Part. Klaasen has at times scored heavily but is not taking his chances when he gets down to a double and at this level he has been getting punished for it, can only see more of the same in this match as Part won't let him off the hook either.
Expect another close one between James Wade and Terry Jenkins. Wade was exceptional beating both Taylor and Barney in successive weeks but apart from that his form has been scratchy, he might be struggling to motivate himself for so-called lesser games and Terry Jenkins is a man that will exploit that. Jenkins hasn't had the greatest results so far this year but has showed plenty of the battling qualities that have got him to where he is today.
Wayne Mardle said it himself on stage last week when he thanked Mervyn King for winding Phil Taylor up, expect Taylor to be flying tonight as he will be more determined than ever to catch King up at the top of the league. Expect it to be a long - short night for Mardle if you know what i mean with Taylor winning comfortably.
