Betting Guide
After today's matches the biggest gainers seem to be the three teams that didn't kick a ball. Portsmouth now cannot be relegated, Sunderland are still in the thick of things but are at least still out of the bottom three and although West Brom still look doomed they at least have something left to play for tomorrow.
Middlebrough are the biggest market movers in the betting now out at a best price 1/50. Needing Newcastle and Hull to lose next week - and make up a -4 goal difference on Hull, oh yes and the miricle of Middlesbrough winning as well - they are finished.
Newcastle also went odds on again at 1/2 after being 11/4 to survive at the start of the day - whatever possessed people to think they would beat Fulham is beyond me. In the end what looked like another blown chance for Hull turned out to be a half decent result with their point at Bolton, if at the start of today Phil Brown had been offered the chance for it to still be in their hands next weekend I'm sure he would have accepted it.
Don't give West Brom much chance tomorrow even though Liverpool can no longer win the league, 3 points for Liverpool all but assures them of 3rd place so don't expect to see them turn up and throw in the towel. Sunderland need 2 points from their remaining two games starting at the now safe Portsmouth on Monday night, they will surely want to finish the job at Pompey and ensure a stress free final weekend next week.
