Coverage of tonights final and 3rd place match starts on Sky Sports 1 at 7pm.
Final - Phil Taylor V Simon Whitlock
Simon Whitlock will be looking to continue his remarkable run when he takes on Phil-the power-Taylor in tonights PDC World Darts Championship Final.
Taylor has walked into the final virtually unopposed, dropping only one set on his march towards an inevitable looking 15th title. Mark Webster was his latest victim last night, he was crushed 6-0 in his semi-final with an awesome Taylor only dropping four legs in the one sided thrashing.
Simon Whitlock's run to the final has been anyting but easy, he had to beat world number 3, James Wade in the quarter-finals and then number 2, Raymond van Barneveld in last nights semi-final.
Barney looked set to end Whitlock's run when he went into a 4-2 lead in sets and the Aussie looked like he had finally cracked. Whitlock then showed what he was made of as he powered into a 5-4 lead, leaving Barney looking down and out.
In what was fast becoming the match of the tournament, Barney fought back to make it 5-5 and then had his chances in the deciding set, before Whitlock finally finished him off.
Quite how much Simon Whitlock has left in the tank for tonights match, who knows? He has had mentally punishing matches for the previous two nights against Wade and Barney, whereas Taylor has got through his games with ease, he should feel the fresher of the two.
