All that really remains to be seen here is if or when India will declare. Already 531 runs ahead the Indians are 349/5 going into day 4, they are in a position where a declaration really serves them no benefit unless they really want to push on and win the series 2-0. As it stands if they where to declare now there wouldn't really be any chance of the Kiwi's getting anywhere near the target.
Gautam Gambhir was the star of the third days play scoring 167 of India's runs, his innings killed off any slight chance of a Kiwi fightback. New Zealand's bowlers toiled away all day but during Gambhir's vigil it became clear that the game was up for them and by the time play was called off early for the day they looked ready to pack up anyway.
